How it all Started

In September 1996 the first pectus patient was seen. It occurred when a teenage athlete removed his shirt for evaluation of a sports injury. The teen had a severe pectus excavatum deformity. It was completely embarrassing for both the child and the health care provider.

It was quickly realized that the health care practitioner received no education on what a pectus defect is; its affect on the body or any improvement techniques such as exercise.

Upon researching pectus deformities it was then realized there was not much information available other than some surgical information. There was definitely no information about exercise programs or non-surgical improvement techniques.

Since that time, Pectus Services developed the ‘T-Joe Pectus Improvement Program’. The improvement program includes exercises and stretching methods. In addition, to exercise the highly acclaimed T-Joe Pectus Bracing System is available!

Available by doctor prescription, the T-Joe Pectus Brace is the only non-surgical FDA Registered brace for pectus carinatum in the United States. The brace is designed to improve Pectus Carinatum deformities and Costal Arch Inversion (flared ribs) which may in turn improve a pectus excavatum deformity.

The ideal age for bracing is 18 and under. However 18-21 year olds may be considered with prescription from your physician.

Our pectus improvement programs have helped many to improve their pectus; improve their self-esteem and their lives!
